Dispersion Coating

Dispersion coating is applied to the material immediately after printing and dries very quickly. A matte dispersion coating, such as the one we offer, enhances both the look and feel of the surface, giving it a refined, high-quality finish. In addition, it provides effective protection against wear, scratches, and moisture by effectively sealing the paper.

One limitation of this type of print finishing is that the coated surface becomes difficult or impossible to write on with a ballpoint pen or rollerball. Subsequent printing is also no longer feasible. Compared to UV coating—especially spot UV—dispersion coating creates a much more subtle visual effect. For this reason, it is best suited as a protective finish rather than a premium decorative enhancement. If a more striking visual impact is desired, a glossy UV coating or gloss lamination is the better choice.

What is dispersion coating made of?

The primary components of dispersion coating are water and binding agents, while surfactants stabilize the mixture by maintaining the dispersion of these substances. During application, the water evaporates, allowing the coating to form a firm bond with the material. The coating process itself is carried out using a coating unit equipped with rollers and an integrated drying system to ensure fast and consistent results.
