Products

Which presentation folders and binders can cardstock produce?

Flexible formats, individual designs and customisable features. Cardstock specialises in the fully customised production of durable presentation folders and binders. This enables us to meet the diverse requirements of our broad customer base and provide tailor-made solutions that are perfectly suited to their intended purpose and occasion.

I am looking for a product that I cannot find at cardstock. Can cardstock still help me?

One of our particular strengths is our ability to take on and implement projects that go beyond standard solutions. Our flexible manufacturing capabilities give us extensive creative freedom. Provided your project is made from cardboard and needs to be durable, we will almost certainly be able to help. Simply tell us about your specific requirements and speak to us about implementing your project.

What is lamination?

At cardstock, presentation folders and binders can be covered, or laminated, with a variety of cover materials. Options include premium paper coverings with different textures, linen materials, leather coverings and metallic-look materials. Each covering creates a completely different look and feel. You can find further information about our cover materials under “Design & Features”.

Which printing processes does cardstock offer?

At cardstock, smaller quantities are produced using screen printing, while larger quantities are produced using offset printing. One-colour and two-colour printing are available, as well as 4/0 and 4/4 full-colour printing. To protect the printed surface and create a premium feel, printed products are finished with a matt or gloss film lamination as standard at cardstock.

Which areas of presentation folders and binders can be customised?

Embossing, printing and coatings can be applied to all sides of the presentation folder, including the front cover, back cover and inside surfaces.

Why are tooling costs included in my quotation?

If you request a presentation folder in a special custom format, it may be a format that cardstock has not produced before. Each individual format requires a precisely manufactured tool for production. If you would like to avoid tooling costs, we therefore recommend selecting an existing format.

How much are the tooling costs?

In most cases, no tooling costs are incurred at cardstock. In rare cases, they range between €200 and €270. Any potential tooling costs will be clearly stated in the quotation.

Which embossing options are available?

Embossing can be applied to any area of presentation folders or binders at cardstock. The thickness of the materials used by cardstock allows us to create deep embossing that can be clearly felt. Options include colourless blind embossing and versatile hot foil stamping. Hot foil stamping is available in gold, silver, glossy black, white and virtually any other colour. The maximum embossing area per die is generally 150 x 150 mm. For larger designs, the embossing motif can be divided across two dies.

Why are two embossing dies required for two-colour hot foil stamping?

During hot foil stamping, a foil is pressed onto the material using a die, high pressure and heat. Only one colour can be applied during each embossing process. If the colours are positioned close together, a separate die with the corresponding foil must be used for each coloured section of the design. Otherwise, the colours may overlap. However, if the colours are positioned further apart, it may be possible to apply both foils using a single die.

How much does an embossing die cost?

Each embossing die generally costs €90.00. Oversized embossing dies may incur additional costs. Multi-coloured embossing requires one die per colour. The embossing die is stored for you at our production facility and retained for any future repeat orders. We can, of course, also send the embossing die to you at any time upon request.

Which formats can cardstock produce?

We can produce presentation folders and binders in almost any requested format. Thanks to the exceptional thickness of our materials, we are also able to manufacture very large presentation folders and binders.

Which exterior design options does cardstock offer for presentation folders and binders?

Presentation folders and binders can be laminated with cover materials from our extensive material archive. Numerous materials are available in a wide variety of colours, textures, structures and finishes. Presentation folders and binders can also be covered with individually printed and film-laminated paper. In addition, we offer a wide range of print finishing options, including aqueous coatings, UV coatings, embossing and metal emblems. This allows logos and brand elements to be showcased perfectly.

How can the interior of presentation folders and binders be customised at cardstock?

A wide selection of mechanisms and pocket systems makes it possible to adapt presentation folders and binders perfectly to the contents they need to hold. The filling capacity of both the pockets and mechanisms can be freely selected. USB stick holders, pen loops and business card pockets can also be integrated into presentation folders and binders. These accessories can likewise be customised according to the customer’s requirements.

Enquiries & Orders

How can I submit a non-binding enquiry to cardstock?

Quickly and easily: through our configurator, by submitting an instant enquiry, by telephone, by email or via live chat. If you would like personal, non-binding advice, our team will be happy to assist you, including on-site consultations. We provide quotations quickly and without obligation, generally within one working day.

How does the ordering process work?

You can place your order by telephone, by email or directly on site. We will first prepare a non-binding quotation for you. Together with your cardstock contact person, you will then discuss all important and necessary details. Once the order has been confirmed and the required print data has been provided, we will create a visualisation of the ordered presentation folder or binder and begin production.

Why does cardstock not display prices?

The presentation folders and binders we produce for our customers are always individually manufactured custom products, and no two projects are the same. Prices therefore vary depending on the quantity, format and features. Our employees take the time to assess every enquiry individually and find the best possible solution for each customer. For this reason, every quotation is prepared personally. You will generally receive your quotation by the following working day.

What is the minimum order quantity at cardstock?

Customised production is available from a minimum quantity of 100 units. There is no maximum order quantity.

I would like to reorder previously produced presentation folders or binders exactly as before. Do I need to submit the data again?

For every order, we store the relevant data and retain a reference sample, embossing dies and other production materials. You therefore do not need to submit the data again.

Service

I submitted an enquiry but have not received a response. What can I do?

Occasionally, enquiries may be overlooked within our internal distribution system, or technical issues may prevent your enquiry from being delivered. We generally respond to enquiries within 48 hours. If you have submitted an enquiry but have not received a response, please try again or contact us by telephone on: +49 711 7827 1524

How can I order material samples?

If you would like to explore our different materials or simply hold a cardstock presentation folder in your hands, you can order product and material samples from cardstock. Simply use the contact form and describe your project, preferences and any other details that are important to you. After a brief consultation with one of our employees, a sample package will be prepared and will generally arrive within two working days.

How much does a sample shipment cost?

Sample shipments are part of the service provided by cardstock and are generally free of charge. However, we reserve the right to charge for express deliveries, multiple shipments or extensive sample packages. You will always be clearly informed of any costs before placing the order.

I have not received my sample shipment. What can I do?

Occasionally, parcels may be lost during transit. If your sample package has not arrived within 7 working days, please contact your representative and request another shipment. Please note that sample deliveries to countries outside the EU may take longer.

What is an approval sample and when is it recommended?

Cardstock offers the option of producing a prototype, also known as an approval sample, before the full production quantity is manufactured and after the order has been placed. This is particularly useful for large quantities, as it helps minimise the risk of errors. It also allows suggested improvements to be considered and any necessary corrections to be made. Since the approval sample is manufactured by hand and requires all production tools to be prepared in advance, it is relatively expensive. Producing an approval sample is therefore generally less economical for smaller quantities.

Can cardstock also provide assembly and fulfilment services?

Upon request, we can insert your printed materials into your presentation folders and deliver the fully assembled products to an address of your choice. Assembly and fulfilment services are available for quantities of 20,000 units or more.

How much do assembly and fulfilment services cost?

The costs are calculated according to the actual amount of work required, including the number of individual steps and any other relevant factors. These costs are generally listed separately in the quotation.

Print Data & Production

What does cardstock require to carry out production?

We require print-ready PDF files for all areas that are to be printed or embossed. The same applies to logos or designs that are to be produced using screen or offset printing. To ensure that the print data is created in the correct format, we will provide the relevant design templates in good time. For the embossing of a company logo, trademark or design, we require a vectorised .eps or .ai file.

How can I send my data to cardstock?

Files of up to approximately 15 MB can be sent directly by email to your designated contact person.

Does cardstock check my data before production begins?

All data sent to us is checked by our graphic designers according to specific criteria. For printed products, we check whether all page formats are correct, all fonts are embedded, the colours have been set up correctly and the artwork includes crop marks and bleed. For embossing, we also check whether the submitted graphics are vectorised and whether the positioning has been specified correctly. If we notice any issues, we will inform you as quickly as possible and assist you where necessary. This service is always provided free of charge.

We do not have our own graphics department. Can the print artwork be created for us?

If you need assistance, please contact us. Our graphics team will be happy to help you create your print artwork.

I would like to make a change. Until when can I submit it?

Production begins as soon as you have received and approved your order confirmation. We will, of course, try to accommodate any requested changes whenever possible. However, depending on the stage of production, changes may result in additional costs and may also extend the delivery time.

Delivery & Shipping

Where does cardstock deliver?

Cardstock delivers to customers worldwide.

How much are the shipping costs?

Shipping costs vary depending on the weight, quantity and delivery destination. Upon request, we will calculate the shipping costs and include them in your quotation.

How are the products shipped?

Our presentation folders and binders are packed in manageable cardboard boxes, placed on pallets and shipped through our partner freight forwarders.

The packaging is to be delivered to a country outside the EU. Should I expect additional import charges?

Shipments to countries outside the EU may incur additional charges, regardless of the destination country. Please note that all local fees, customs duties and taxes incurred upon delivery of the order are payable by the recipient. Please speak to your personal contact person to clarify the details.

Payment

How will I receive the invoice?

The invoice is issued after the goods have been delivered. You will receive the document by email in PDF format. The invoice amount must be transferred in full to the account specified on the invoice within 7 days.

When does cardstock require advance payment?

For new customers, first-time orders and large quantities, we reserve the right to request full or partial advance payment. The percentage is determined individually depending on the order.

Complaints

The presentation folders or binders have been delivered, but unfortunately the products do not match my order, for example due to damage, incorrect materials, colour variations or an error in the inlay. What can I do?

Quality and your satisfaction are our highest priorities. If our products have been damaged during transport or display any other unwanted characteristics, please contact your personal representative immediately. Your complaint will then be reviewed as quickly as possible. If the complaint is justified, the affected products will be collected, corrected and replaced with products that meet the agreed specifications. Please ensure that obvious transport damage is reported immediately and that obvious defects relating to the condition of the products are reported within 6 days of receiving the goods.

Data Protection

What happens to the data I submit through the contact form or configurator?

Your data is treated with absolute confidentiality in accordance with our data protection policy and is used solely for processing the contract and handling your order.
