Mechanics

Mechanisms are used to file loose sheets, documents, brochures or presentation materials securely inside folders, binders and document cases. Depending on the intended use, document volume and handling requirements, different types of mechanisms are available. The right choice ensures that documents remain neatly organised, easy to access and well protected during everyday use.

Ring Mechanism

A ring mechanism is the classic solution for filing larger quantities of documents or printed content. It is commonly used in binders, folders and presentation cases where pages need to be turned easily and removed or added when required.

Ring mechanisms are available as 2-ring or 4-ring versions and in filling heights from 16 to 50 mm. The higher the filling height, the more paper the mechanism can hold. High-quality chrome-plated metal versions offer excellent stability and are particularly suitable for professional folders that are used frequently.

Clip Mechanism

A clip mechanism can hold up to approximately 100 sheets and is especially suitable for writing folders, conference folders and meeting folders. It allows documents to be inserted quickly without punching holes, which makes it a practical choice for handouts, notes or temporary document collections.

Thanks to its robust metal construction, a high-quality chrome clip mechanism remains reliable even with frequent use. It is a good option when documents need to be held firmly in place while still being easy to remove or replace.

Fastening Mechanism

A fastening mechanism usually has a standard filling height of around 5 mm and can hold up to approximately 50 sheets of paper. It is a simple and space-saving solution for slimmer folders, reports and document sets.

This type of mechanism is easy to operate and keeps punched sheets securely fixed in place. In chrome quality, it offers a clean, durable and professional finish, making it suitable for both everyday office use and branded presentation materials.

Lever Arch Mechanism

A lever arch mechanism uses a simple opening system operated by a small lever. It is designed for regular use and larger document volumes, offering both easy handling and high stability.

This mechanism is commonly available with filling heights of 30 mm and 55 mm. As a rough guideline, 1 mm of filling height can hold up to approximately 10 sheets of paper, depending on the paper weight. Lever arch mechanisms are therefore ideal for folders and binders that need to store extensive documentation while remaining easy to browse.

Transparent Clamp Rail

The transparent clamp rail is one of the most economical mechanisms. It is usually made from clear plastic and is glued into a folder or document case. Its discreet appearance makes it suitable for simple, lightweight and cost-effective document solutions.

The clamp rail has a small opening under which approximately 1 to 20 sheets of paper can be inserted. With slight pressure, it may also hold a few more sheets. Because the material is slightly flexible, the rail can adapt to different document volumes and keep loose pages securely in place without the need for punching.
