Unfortunately, increasing resolution is not always straightforward. In contrast, pixel-based images (such as photographs) rely on a fixed grid of colored pixels. Enlarging these images beyond their original resolution typically leads to a loss of sharpness and visible pixelation.

Understanding the difference between vector and raster graphics is essential when preparing files for print. Vector graphics are ideal for logos, icons, and illustrations, while high-resolution raster images are best suited for photographs.

How Does Resolution Relate to Megapixels?

Dividing these values by 100 gives an approximate print size in centimeters for high-quality output at 300 dpi—resulting in about 16 × 12 cm. This means formats like A6 (approximately 10 × 15 cm) can still be printed with good quality using such an image.

When Is Custom Printing Possible at cardstock?

Depending on the product, our minimum order quantities for custom printing typically range between 100 and 300 units when using CMYK offset printing. This is because setup and production costs would otherwise result in disproportionately high unit prices for smaller quantities.

For very small runs, such as presentation folders or document holders, we recommend alternative premium materials like fine linen or metallic finishes. These options allow for a high-quality appearance even without full custom printing, making them a cost-effective solution for smaller quantities.
