Sample Folder with Foam Insert

A company from the textile industry was looking for a high-quality presentation solution to showcase a selection of fabric and material samples in a professional and visually appealing way. The goal was to create a sample folder that not only displayed the individual material samples clearly, but also integrated a comprehensive catalogue in a practical and elegant manner.

The final solution needed to support sales conversations, make product comparisons easier and give customers a strong impression of the quality and variety of the materials. For this reason, the design focused on a clean structure, durable materials and a premium appearance.

The Implementation

The customer wanted to include six smaller compartments for material samples. In addition, the matching A4 brochure contained around 150 pages and featured a hardcover binding. This meant that the folder had to provide enough stability to hold both the catalogue and the sample elements securely.

A rigid cover was chosen as the basis for the construction. This gave the sample folder the necessary strength and allowed the material book to be firmly integrated into the inside of the folder. The catalogue was attached on the left-hand side, making it easy to browse while keeping it securely in place.

On the right-hand side, the folder offers space for the material sample compartments. These are positioned in precisely cut recesses within a custom-made foam insert. The foam insert keeps the samples neatly arranged, prevents them from shifting during transport and ensures that each material can be removed and replaced easily.

The folder is closed using a concealed magnetic closure integrated into the side flaps. This creates a clean exterior without visible closing elements and supports the overall premium look. The customer logo was applied to the cover using glossy silver hot foil stamping, giving the folder a subtle but refined branded finish.

A colour-matched handle opening in the spine of the folder improves carrying comfort and also makes it easier to pull the folder out of a shelf or cabinet. This practical detail supports daily use, especially in showrooms, sales meetings or sample libraries.

The Result

The result is a very structured and visually appealing sample folder that focuses on the essentials while still offering a high level of functionality. The combination of an integrated catalogue, precisely fitted foam insert and robust cover creates a presentation system that is both elegant and practical.

The slightly raised texture of the dark linen cover gives the folder a pleasant tactile quality. This surface works particularly well with the deep silver foil stamping, which presents the customer logo in a discreet yet clearly visible way.

Thanks to the use of high-quality, dimensionally stable materials, the folder is designed for long-term use. It protects the contents, presents the samples professionally and provides reliable support during customer consultations and sales presentations.
