High-Quality Certificate Folders for Universities

For the presentation of graduation certificates to students from various degree programs, a public university was looking for high-quality certificate folders. The folders needed to be sturdy, elegant, and designed in the university’s understated visual style. cardstock was asked to develop and produce a suitable solution.

The Implementation

Certificate folders used in an academic setting must do more than simply hold a document. They should protect the certificate, present it in a dignified way, and create a lasting impression when handed over during a graduation ceremony. For this project, the focus was therefore on a clean design, reliable document fixation, and a premium material finish.

Since each folder was intended to hold a single certificate sheet, a solution with four transparent corner holders was selected. This mechanism allows the certificate to be inserted easily at all four corners. The document remains securely in place while still being fully visible and easy to remove if needed.

The material combination was chosen to match the university’s design language. A light grey interior creates a calm and neutral frame for the certificate, while the dark blue exterior gives the folder a formal and professional appearance. For the cover material, a fine linen finish was used. This material has a subtle texture and a timeless character, making it particularly suitable for official documents and academic occasions.

The university logo was applied to the lower right corner of the cover using hot foil stamping. This finishing technique adds a refined accent without making the design appear too decorative. The result is a discreet but clearly visible branding element that supports the overall premium look of the folder.
