Three-Part Sample Folder for Material Samples

For premium stones, textiles, surface finishes, and many other materials, sample folders are a practical and often essential tool. They make it easy to compare different colors, textures, and material options in a compact format while presenting them in a professional and structured way.

In this project, the goal was to create a high-quality presentation solution for real stone samples. The folder needed to help sales teams, customers, and business partners experience the material samples clearly and conveniently, while also reflecting the premium quality of the product itself.

The Sample Folder Had to Meet Several Requirements

The most important requirement was stability. Since the folder was designed to hold real stone samples, the total weight was significantly higher than with paper, fabric, or lightweight material swatches. The construction therefore had to be robust enough to support the samples securely during handling, presentation, and transport.

In total, the folder needed to provide space for twelve stone samples. In addition to the samples themselves, accompanying brochures and a business card also had to be integrated into the design. This required a well-structured layout that would keep all elements neatly arranged without making the folder feel overloaded.

A three-part design was the ideal solution. It provides enough space for the different contents and allows each section to serve a clear purpose. On the left-hand side, documents and brochures can be placed in a practical corner pocket. A dedicated business card pocket was also integrated into this section, making the folder suitable for client meetings, trade fairs, and sales presentations.

The middle and right sections were designed for the stone samples. These were placed in individually manufactured foam inserts. The inserts hold each sample securely in position, protect the material during transport, and create a clean, professional presentation. This is especially important for heavier samples, as they need to remain firmly in place while still being easy to remove and inspect.

The visual design was closely aligned with the customer’s brand identity. A rich apple green was chosen for the cover material, creating a fresh and natural impression that matched the theme of natural stone particularly well. The customer’s logo was placed discreetly but visibly on the cover, giving the folder a refined branded appearance without distracting from the materials inside.

The Result

The finished three-part sample folder offers a durable, practical, and elegant solution for presenting real stone samples. It provides enough room for all required contents while keeping the overall layout clear and organized. Each element has its own defined place, making the folder easy to use in everyday sales situations.

The apple green fine linen cover material creates an attractive contrast with the natural stone samples and adds a pleasant tactile quality to the folder. The combination of structured fabric, solid construction, and precisely cut foam inserts gives the presentation a high-end feel that supports the value of the materials being shown.
